Here is a bit of history for ye, if it's boring just skip it.
We have been in the custom bike building business for almost sixteen years now (Professionally that is). Custom bikes have been in our blood for a lot longer then that.
The first shop was called custom bike fabricators, and it was probably the first time that people in Ireland could Get all their custom parts, paintwork, and one off fabrication, done under the one roof.
In 1996 we moved to our present workshop which is now situated near the Five Mile Bridge in Co. Cork.
A lot of our project's were featured in back street heroes magazine, and we even did work from as far away as Sweden, Belgium, south Africa, the USA, and England.
Unfortunately there was not enough interest in custom bikes back then and I couldn't make a living from doing what I love, so I pulled out and went painting full time. I set up spectrum FX then. Mostly crash repairs but still a lot of custom work.
That was about ten years ago. I really missed the bike building so within a year a few of us started c&c choppers, All close friends all into choppers, and all talented as well. We all had jobs so this was just part time, we built bikes for friends and ourselves. But in the last few years more and more people are looking for bikes to be built again.
The discovery channel and orange county choppers probably has a lot to do with all the new interest out there. We are not complaining, now we are back doing what we do best, from customising stock bikes to building top of the range choppers. An old T-shirt I once had said. There's no stopping the chopping!
